This Privacy Policy explains what information Spåna (operated by Inellipse, "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Spåna is a service that monitors smart-home sensors connected to your IKEA DIRIGERA hub and sends you notifications. This is a placeholder policy for the beta period and will be updated before general availability.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and authentication details. If you sign in with a third party (such as Google or Apple), we receive a basic profile and email from that provider.
- Sensor events. The Spåna agent runs on your own network and forwards your DIRIGERA sensor events (for example motion, motion, door open/close and temperature readings) so we can evaluate your rules and send alerts.
- Configuration. The rooms, sensors, alerts and notification preferences you set up.
- Technical data. Basic logs and diagnostics (such as timestamps and error information) needed to operate and secure the service.
What stays on your network
Your DIRIGERA hub address and access token are configured on the agent and are not transmitted to or stored by Spåna. The agent opens a single outbound, encrypted connection to our service and forwards only the events relevant to the monitoring you've set up.
How we use information
- To provide the service – evaluating your alerts and delivering notifications.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To operate, maintain, debug and improve the service.
- To contact you about important service or security matters.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your sensor data for advertising.
Notifications
To deliver push notifications we use a messaging provider (for example Firebase Cloud Messaging). Delivering a notification involves sending the device token and message content to that provider.
Data retention
We retain sensor events and logs for as long as needed to operate the service and provide history, and we delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit what is collected in the first place.
Children
Spåna is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the service or by email before they take effect.
